What Is Porcelain
And Why Do We Use It?

Porcelain is a stone product using quartz, clay, and feldspar. It is formed under intense heat and is renowned for its unmatched durability and versatility. Its nonporous surface resists stains, spills, and bacterial growth. It also stands up to heat, allowing you to place hot cookware right on it for short periods. Porcelain countertops can endure daily use and are highly resilient to scratches, chips, and cracks.

FAQ

Porcelain slab countertops are generally durable enough to resist chips, heat, stains, and scratches. That said, it is crucial to entrust their installation to a skilled fabricator to prevent any potential chipping or cracking.

Maintaining the pristine appearance of your porcelain countertop is simple. Regular cleaning with warm water and mild soap is all you need to keep it looking great.

For tougher stains caused by soap scum, hard water deposits, or mildew, you can opt for a gentle multipurpose spray cleaner. Steer clear of cleaning products containing acids, ammonia, or other harsh chemicals, as these can damage glossy surfaces.

After cleaning, thoroughly dry your porcelain countertop to prevent watermarks.

Steer clear of potent chemicals, strong acids/alkalis, abrasive cleaners (oven, grill, or floor), or oil-based solutions. Always test clean products on a hidden spot and rinse any accidental exposure promptly with water.

Porcelain is extremely nonporous, meaning the surface repels bacteria, mould, and mildew to keep it clean and hygienic.

With proper care porcelain countertops have a lifespan of approximately 10 to 20 years. Beyond this, cracks, breakages, and scratches are more common.
